HIGH CASCADES 100: July 20 – Bend

Think you’ve got what it takes? Head to Bend for High Cascades, one of the most intense endurance races in Oregon. Eighty miles of the 100 mile course are singletrack, woven among 9,500+ feet of elevation gain, making for a course course only the most hardcore mt. bike riders can love.

In 2012, 90% of participants finished the grueling course, up from 80% is 2011. The event website has a few tips for successfully making it to the finish line, and now is the time to start seriously training if you’re going to conquer this massive feat.

Cash prizes pay seven deep for men and five deep for women, with the top prize of $500 – so we know you’re not in this for the money. Participating is for a good cause, though; last year High Cascades raised $5,000 for the Central Oregon Trail Alliance.

Fewer than 90 spots remain and this race will sell out, so register while you still can.
Various start times and event locations, see website.
