Columbia Area Mountain Bike Advocates (CAMBA) Update
Important notice!
Everyone:
The Hood River County Forestry Department will soon be conducting a herbicide spray operation for Clematis Timber Sale. Clematis is the clear-cut timber sale that lies on either side of Post Canyon Creek and the Seven Streams Trail. This operation will be conducted by helicopter and could take place any day from this time forward but will most likely take place next week. Another e-mail notification will be sent out once the exact dates and times of the operation are known.
The Forestry Department will be closing all trails that enter or are adjacent to the timber sale just before the spray operation takes place. Please spread the word about the upcoming operation and the need to stay clear of the area until all of the Trail Closed signage have been removed.
Herbicide spray operations are a management tool used to reduce competition from weeds therefore allowing better survival of the county’s tree seedlings. Clematis is scheduled to be planted with 400 tree seedlings per acre during spring 2014.
Let me know if you have any questions.
