Food Beer Trail at StuB Stewart State Park
Sat, 05/03/2014 – 9:00am – 3:00pm
This month’s group trail build will focus on installing a trailhead sign, creating a rock garden skill filter, and then some tread work. To show appreciation to all those who help, there will be some brews and food provided after. But please sign up or email me to RSVP.
We will not meet at the park, but at Buxton Trailhead. Address: 24600 NW Bacona Rd, Buxton. From there its an easy ~2 mile pedal up the Banks-Vernonia trail. The worksites will be close to the trailhead, so knobby tires and clipless pedals are not necessary unless you plan to ride after. We will ride out of the parking lot at 9:10, if you are late you can find us at the bottom of Fellings Wedge.
Note that Buxton TRAILHEAD CLOSES AT 7PM and the GATES WILL BE LOCKED, so you need to be back at your car before closing time.
We build rain or shine, so come prepared for rain, sun, heat, and cold.
What is provided: Tools and donuts during the work, some brews and homemade, vegetarian-friendly gumbo after the event.
What you need to bring: bike and helmet (or be prepared for a lengthy walk), work gloves, water, weather appropriate clothing- rain gear recommended, pants and shoes for dirt work.

Ventura Park Pump Track Work Party
Sat, 05/03/2014 – 9:00am – 4:00pm
Completed during the summer of 2012, the Ventura Park Pump track is the City of Portland’s first public pump track. Built through a partnership of Northwest Trail Alliance and Portland Parks and Recreation, it’s a successful example of what we should have in every neighborhood in America.
NWTA is hosting a work party on Saturday, May 3rd to rebuild and improve the pump track for the upcoming 2014 season and beyond. We’re looking for volunteers to come on out and move some dirt around, sculpt some berms, and then get out and ride after the work is done. A huge thanks goes out to Wood Waste Management and Portland Parks and Recreation for donating materials for the rebuild.
We’ll be partnering with a sponsor to provide food and drinks to those in attendance, so come on out!
For more information, contact John “Dabby” Campbell or write to info@nw-trail.org. Volunteers should sign up here so we can track and reward your efforts!
