Teresa’s Story & Cause
There’s Not Been A Single Day In Your Life When You’ve Been
Anything But Magnificent.
Every Day You Move Mountains, Touch Lives, And Perform Miracles.
Every Day You’re A Success, A Hero, And An Example.
And Every Day You Change The world.
Teresa Wilson Beiser was an energetic, athletic woman with an unconquerable spirit who was the picture of health and wholeness. Her life included her regular job as a lab technician, her passion job as spin instructor and of course her around the clock job as the proud parent of two active kids. Teresa was also an avid bodybuilder and cyclist and loved the outdoors. Every day was an adventure to Teresa and she took it on with great courage, a beautiful smile and an inner peace that warmed the soul. She loved everyone and encouraged those around her with her positive energy.
On Tuesday November 10, 2009 Teresa’s estranged husband went on a shooting rampage at her place of work. The incident, which made national news, also shut down the town of Tualatin, Legacy Hospital, and Tualatin area schools for a number of hours. In addition to Teresa, the gunman wounded two others and then took his own life. These shots echoed through-out the Portland Metro Area as the town of Tualatin, the community at large and left friends and family devastated at the loss of life and knowledge of the difficult future her two children would face.
Teresa was not just a statistic she was someone’s mother, daughter, sister, sweetheart, neighbor, teacher, friend and cycling buddy. She is painfully missed in all of those roles.
The Ride to Remember (formerly known as the Lancette Memorial Ride) is the inspiration of Teresa’s friends and fellow cycling enthusiasts. Through this ride Teresa’s tenacity for achieving her dreams and her caring heart are brought together in a challenging cycling event that is raising awareness of domestic violence.
