Hood River Area Trail Stewards Update: There’s still plenty of trail work parties to attend. Put them on your calendar!

Hello Trail Lovers,

Here’s number six of our eight-week seasonal newsletter.

Thank you to all who came out Sunday for the first big HRATS work party!
A bunch of you showed up ready to go and we were able to hit five trails:
The yet-to-be-named (fluid upper 8-track downhill) had 15 rakers and shapers smoothing a path for you behind the expert workings of Jason Wells and his machine.
Maurizio’s Enduro Trail had 25 people that dug into all the nasty stuff. Everyone’s excited for the more technical trail with a natural feel.
Bad Motor Scooter had 8 people curating berms and jumps for the more advanced riders.
Family Man had about 8 people fine tuning and smoothing out the tread.
Nine eager volunteers headed to the new Equestrian/Running/Walking trail and worked their magic throwing, racking, and packing. With a big thank you to Pine Street Bakery for the surprise coffee and treats!

The work parties continue. Please come and help build on your favorite trails:

HRATS is still looking for a few good people. Please consider these positions to help spread the work load:

HRATS Volunteer Coordinator
HRATS is looking for a friendly trail enthusiast to help us organize work parties and recruit volunteers to keep our trails in good shape. The Volunteer Coordinator will work with the Adopter Liaison to help with trail maintenance and trail building needs identified by our local trail adopters. The Volunteer Coordinator should enjoy working with people, be enthusiastic about mountain biking, and have strong communication skills. Prior trail-building experience is appreciated but not required. HRATS board member appointments are three-year terms. We hope to find someone interested in sticking around and helping for multiple build seasons. Please contact: spaeth.andrew@gmail.com.

HRATS FUNdraisers
We’re looking for a few passionate, energetic folks to join our fundraising committee. The committee works year-round but with an average commitment of a few hours a month and an effort peaking around our large spring fundraiser in April/May. No prior fundraising experience is required. For more info, contact Fundraising Chair Campbell Morrissy.

That’s all for this week.

Thanks for reading!
