Hello Trail Lovers,
Our springtime newsletter is back to bring you some highlights and happenings.
What Has Been Done For You (and for some: by you)
Since the fall, builders and volunteers have devoted enormous effort and time to creating, revamping, and repairing our trails in the gorge, and while the trail sign gnomes are hard at work, I’d like to feature some new and old riffs to our music-themed trails in Post Canyon this week (the map is not to scale, nor oriented North, nor does it show all the trails in the area).
8-Track: This is a smooth, rhythmic, mostly climbing trail with a forgiving pitch and enough character to keep your mind off the climb.
Mixtape: A quick turny, frolic through the woods to connect to Eldorado or 8-Track.
Extended Play: This is an oldie but goodie. A black diamond trail with wood-armored dirt jumps and located just above Remix.
Remix: This new downhill trail is accessible and enjoyable to all ability levels. It is filled with jumpy, flowy goodness and located to the right of BMS.
A-Side: A new 100% hand-built single-track downhill trail that starts NW of the top of 8-Track. A-Side is a blue difficulty that’s a bit rawer than the average post-canyon trail, and it will be opening in May. Please do not attempt to ride until it is open.
Klee Way received a major facelift: The start was raised by approximately 12 feet, enabling a more consistent speed. The revampers added twists, turns, and rolls to give it a more surfyfeel, enjoyed at different speeds and abilities. Out-slope and drain placements were also increased to help the trail adopters maintain the trail from season to season. Look for it to be open soon.
Family Man is open but will again see significant work this Spring. Please stay away from any machine work.
Middle School, The School of Rock, and the new Klee Drops are all open.
The 140 has been rebuilt and is open after logging. Remember, this is a motorcycle trail that mountain bikers get to use. Please be respectful and understand that conditions can change quickly.

Thanks for your support, and we look forward to seeing you in a few weeks at The Ruins.
Lastly, spring riding can be amazing but also a sloppy mess that destroys the trails. Please avoid the slop. And Donate button: https://hrats.org/fundraising/donations/
