Hello Trail Lovers,
Featuring this week: Family Man in Post Canyon
After a year of construction in Family Man, we are ready to show off our massive project to all of our supporters. We’ve spent most of our time asking for volunteers, coordinating, and building, and not so much sharing our vision, but it’s finally time for a little show-and-tell. Here is a list of the new Family Man lines. The names are links to their Trailforks page. So please click on the name so you can see where it is in Family Man.
The Playground – A perfect trail for kids on striders to kids with 20” wheels.
Cakewalk – An updated beginner skills loop with a nice mix of fun features and a very mellow downhill. You’ll see more and more features added throughout the summer.
1st Grade – The first in the series of grade school jump lines for the beginner.
3rd Grade – The second in the series of jump lines with 3 small table jumps and a flowy, downhill section.
5th Grade – The progression then moves here for a slightly more aggressive line.
New Middle School – A whole new jump experience for Post Canyon simply because the sends are bigger, but also friendly radii and all rollable tables. There is a brand new 100″ roll-in ramp as well to help generate the extra speed. An incredible jump line!
Honor Roll – Starts on the same wooden deck as 3rd Grade and is a fun downhill pump track.
Klee Drops – All new progressive drops are in. The whole area got altered dirt wise to have friendly landings that support proper trail speed drops, and they dovetail nicely into Drop Out with three wood drops that progress up to nearly 4ft.
School of Rock – New extended rock garden with multiple progressive lines. Small rocks to big boulders, it’s a great place to practice some technical riding.
Field Day – Under Construction: The perfect warm-up lap and the place to check the setup on your bike before a day of riding from Family Man. It’s also a good warm-up for those heading up to Remix for the first time.
Timber Cruise – Post Canyon’s first Adaptive mountain bike trail. A short, fun loop with mellow features.
Although we show the Family Man map above, as always, trailforks.com is the best way to see trails that HRATS works on.
Also, HRVHS students have created custom trail signs for Family Man using recycled sawmill blades. The signs are ready to be installed, so look for those soon.
