I’ve been biking on some of the gravel in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest while carrying my portable ham radio transceiver with me, with a focus on accessing some of its many summits for the purpose of “activating” them for Summits on the Air. Since so many of the roads in the Gifford Pinchot are overgrown or rutted out, a bicycle is often one of the best modes of travel to “connect the dots” and access a lot of these places.
