Hello Trail Lovers,
A few exciting tidbits for you all this week!
Quinoa Timber Sale:
In preparation for the Quinoa Timber Sale (map attached), several Moto-Trails, including Dirt Surfer, will close at 7:00 am, Tuesday, 5/20/25. The status of the affected trails can be viewed on the Hood River County Digital Trail Map here: Trail Map and includes:
- Moto Trail-170/Dirt Surfer (lower section)
- Moto Trail-172
- Moto Trail-173
- Moto Trail-174
The closure is expected to last a couple of weeks (or less) and can be circumnavigated via HRCF 1009 Rd. and HRCF Rd. 1000/Maple Rd. Logging is anticipated to continue through the holiday weekend. Based on the cut boundary shown on the attached map, we do not anticipate a significant impact to Moto Trail-170/Dirt Surfer, and repairs will occur promptly once we regain access.
For the safety of all, please do not enter the closure or approach machinery.
Thank you,
Thomas Moloney
Recreation Program Manager
Hood River County Forestry Dept.
