The Westside Trail Federation officially opened Bat Country, a 2-mile shuttleable Downhill trail in the Tillamook State Forest.
Bat Country is the third trail in the Drift Creek network, and it’s a black diamond descent with plenty of steep sections and optional double-black features.
the trail starts out mellow and undulating before getting steeper and faster. The trailbed is raw and natural, with some careful dirt sculpting around larger features to keep speed high.
A 20-foot step-down, 25-foot step-up, and an 8-foot drop wait to challenge riders who want a little extra spice.
