Hello Trail Lovers,
We know we’ve sent quite a few emails lately, so we’re making a shift to a more streamlined approach. Going forward, HRATS will be consolidating non-time-sensitive updates into a single newsletter format. The cadence will vary based on the season and activity level, and rest assured, our goal is to keep the information flowing without filling your inbox. This is our first edition, and as always, we welcome your feedback on how we can improve.
In this edition:

May 3rd Work Party
Join us on Sunday, May 3 for a community trail work party at Family Man. We’ll meet at 9:00 AMand work until about 1:00 PM, focusing on general trail maintenance projects to keep the system in great shape for the season. All experience levels are welcome—there will be a variety of tasks available, from light trail work to more hands-on projects, and volunteers can participate at whatever level they’re comfortable with.
Please come prepared with sturdy footwear, gloves, and water. Tools and guidance will be available on site, and volunteers can check in via QR code at the trailhead. Parking is available in the Family Man area and requires a Hood River County parking permit—be sure to have one displayed. Use this link to purchase a pass: Hood River County Forest Parking Pass. You can also purchase a day pass on site at Family Man. This is a great opportunity to give back, meet fellow trail users, and help maintain the trails we all enjoy.
As with all work parties, we ask you to sign a 2026 waiver (if you have not done so already): 2026 Waiver. Please also track your hours: 2026 Hours Tracking
2026 Fundraiser Follow-Up
We want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who came out to support the event—whether you attended, donated, volunteered, or helped spread the word. Your energy and generosity are what make these events successful and directly support the trails and community we all care about. We’re especially grateful to Ferment Brewing Company for hosting and partnering with us to make the night possible.
With your help—and support from Ferment—we raised $18,000 through donations, raffle tickets, and auction items to fund future trail projects.
We’re always looking to improve and would love to hear your feedback. What worked well? What could be better next time? Your input helps us continue to grow and make future events even more enjoyable and impactful for everyone involved. We’d love to hear from you—just reply to this email with any constructive feedback.
