Hello Trail Lovers,
Here in an important announcement from Hood River County Forestry.
As of 12:01 am, Tuesday, June 16th, 2026, the Oregon Dept of Forestry Regulated Use Closure (RUC) has gone into effect in Hood River and Wasco County. The RUC restrictions will close County Forest trails to combustion engine motorized use on Middle Mt., Pinemont, and Fir Mt. (Eastside) due to fire danger at this time. The Forestry Dept. will be installing signage today, 6/16/26. Open campfires and fireworks throughout the county forest are also prohibited. Campfires are only permitted inside fire rings at designated County Campgrounds at this time. Portable cooking stoves using liquefied or bottled fuels are allowed throughout the forest.
A Waiver of the RUC restrictions for OHV (Off-Highway Vehicle) combustion engine motorized use will be in place again this year for Hood River County’s Northwest Area Trail System (Post Canyon) until further notice. Electric OHV’s & E-bikes usage is unaffected and permitted on designated trails.
Happy Trails,
HRATS
